Epstein kept a ‘meticulously detailed’ secret diary about his friendships with powerful people as an ‘insurance policy’
Epstein was found dead inside his cell at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center on August 10, but a ‘secret diary’ might still prove the undoing of any accomplices
Jeffrey Epstein, who was mysteriously found dead in his cell at the Manhattan Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) on August 10, is said to have kept a “meticulously detailed” secret diary containing details of his friendships with some of the world’s most powerful people.
Now, the Mirror is reporting that Epstein may well haunt some of these powerful people from beyond the grave as he kept a ‘secret diary’ that detailed his friendships as an “insurance policy.”
Will Robert Maxwell’s daughter spill paedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s secrets to FBI? Rumours swirl that Ghislaine Maxwell is ready to co-operate US authorities
- Socialite daughter of the disgraced late media tycoon Robert Maxwell accused
- Ghislaine Maxwell has been described as the ‘madam of the house’ by staff
- Virginia Roberts alleged in a document that Miss Maxwell took part in sex
Ghislaine Maxwell was last night reported to be ready to co-operate with the American authorities in their ongoing investigation into Prince Andrew’s late friend Jeffrey Epstein.
The socialite daughter of the disgraced late media tycoon Robert Maxwell has been accused of recruiting underage girls for the financier Epstein, her benefactor and sometime boyfriend.
She has even been described as the ‘madam of the house’ by a former housekeeper at Epstein’s mansion in Palm Beach, Florida. Hitherto, she has always emphatically denied misconduct.

Virginia Roberts, Epstein’s former ‘sex slave’ who claims she was loaned out to Prince Andrew, alleged in a a document newly released by a US court that Miss Maxwell took part in sex sessions as well.
Thomas Volscho, an associate professor of sociology at the City University of New York who is writing a book about the Epstein case, said that Miss Maxwell was now ‘target number one’ for prosecutors.
‘They are going to want to hold somebody to account and there is going to be enormous pressure on Maxwell as she has been accused of being heavily involved with Epstein,’ he said. ‘I would imagine she is petrified’.
The suggestion that Miss Maxwell, 58, will assist the criminal case presents a further dramatic twist in a story which threatens to do yet more damage to the Royal Family’s public image.
It was Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah, who first introduced him to ‘Good Time Ghislaine’, as her friends called her.
The first report of their friendship was a footnote in a newspaper diary column from early 1999. ‘Prince Andrew keeps interesting company these days,’ it began. ‘He’s just attended a dinner hosted by Ghislaine Maxwell.’
By April 2000 Ghislaine and Andrew were spotted sharing one of several intimate lunch dates together. They sat hand in hand while dining on lobster salad – she sipped a champagne cocktail – at Nello restaurant on New York’s Madison Avenue.
His police bodyguard watched discreetly and fell in step behind Andrew once he had paid the £90 bill in cash. Miss Maxwell left separately in order to avoid the paparazzi.
But, she and the Duke of York were not in a romantic relationship. Indeed, as his new found confidante and social fixer she was far, far more important to him than that.
Callahan described Andrew as “useless at best, a liability at worst.” She said he is “boorish, piggish, entitled, greedy and often quite stupid, consorting with oligarchs and strongmen for personal profit.” Very soon, the British public could get an even clearer picture of Andrew’s “most dangerous entanglement,” his “rancid loyalty” to convicted pedophile Epstein, she said. Andrew and Epstein’s friendship goes back to the 1990s, various reports have said. Epstein was tight enough with Andrew that he was invited to the queen’s birthday party in 2000 and was a guest at Sandringham, Balmoral and Windsor Castle, the Sunday Times reported.
One reason Andrew sought and maintained a friendship with Epstein is that he needed the money, the Daily Beast wrote. Unlike his older brother Prince Charles, who will one day become king and draws income from a vast royal estate, Andrew mostly relies on his mother to maintain his royal lifestyle. He “benefited from Epstein’s largesse,” the Daily Beast said.
Queen Elizabeth II showed her support for Prince Andrew on Sunday morning as he faced increased scrutiny over his ties with late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Britain’s monarch smiled beside her 59-year-old son as they were driven to church in Scotland, with the prince grinning widely despite being newly accused of groping a woman’s breast at Epstein’s mansion.
The Duke of York’s eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, also joined them in what is being taken as a show of solidarity for the scandal-hit royal.
An aide told the Express that the prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were taking refuge at Balmoral from the “grim times.”
The drive to Crathie Church at Balmoral was the first time Andrew has been seen since 66-year-old Epstein’s death from an apparent suicide in federal custody on Saturday.
His death came the day after fresh court papers were released naming rich and powerful men tied to the pedophile’s abuse of underage girls….
